APEX Medical Laboratories is committed to providing high quality diagnostic services while adhering to ISO15189 standards (International Medical Laboratory Standards).
We offer an expanded testing menu which we continually grow depending on our clients' needs, with capacity to process over 3,000 tests per month.
Our laboratory is owned as a partnership of two Medical Laboratory Scientists who oversee the provision of services, ensuring quality and validity of the laboratory testing process and offering added value interpretation of results to doctors and clinicians for improved patient management and care.
The co-founders have over 15 years of experience in Medical Laboratory services in Malawi, working with all public health laboratories in the country to expand testing capabilities and improve service quality.
Our Story
Looking at different challenges in Malawi, the co-founders thought of making their own contribution in improving the quality of healthcare in Malawi. APEX Medical Laboratories was established in September 2017, capitalizing on the knowledge and experience gained and looking at innovations that can work for both doctors/clinicians and patient communities.
In one publication by one of the co-founders, where over 200 Malawian doctors and clinicians working in public health facilities were surveyed, 70% of them indicated that they used laboratory tests in patient management.
However, they cited infrastructure, quality, and long turn around times as challenges in using laboratory tests and providing quality patient management. Using the knowledge and experience gained and looking at innovations that can work for both doctors/clinicians and patient communities, the co-Founders formed the APEX Medical Laboratories in September 2017.
